7 Valentine's Day Nail Designs

Hello friends! Today I have a compilation of 7 Valentine's Day nail art designs for you. These range from freehand to stamped nail designs, and in each one I'll go over how to recreate these on your nails too! You'll see a strong pink theme with all of these looks - pink is, after all, my favorite color😉

1. Polka Dots

First up is a simple polka dot mani, but with Valentine's day colors. The colors I went for in this look were a bit on the muted side, but polka dots are always a simple and classic look. I used a dotting tool for this look, and I think the muted colors give the look a slightly different taste on classic pink and white polka dots.

The polishes featured in this look are Cinnablush by Maniology (pink), and Plum Perfect by Alchemy Lacquers (mulitchrome purple).

2. Wrapped Tips

With this design, I went for a wrapped-tip look using a classic red and deep magenta. Paired with the light pink base, the three colors are a gorgeous Valentine's themed combo. In person, this look is quite classy and minimal-looking.

I used the tip of my polish brush to create the larger wraps, and then used a detail brush to draw the red hearts and red lines as accents.

The polishes featured in this look are Fair Maiden's Halloween is Meowgical, Quixotic Polish's Dancing Sugarplums, and Live Love Polish's Monroe.

3. Heart Patterned Stamping

For this look, I went with a more advance reverse stamping technique. After setting a base, I stamped the hearts design using a white polish so that the lines would easily stand out, and colored the hearts using two colors to create a subtle gradient effect. The order of colors was flipped between the two fingers so that the gradient is a bit more noticable.

The polishes featured in this look are Pahlish's Arietty and Chihiro, Maniology's Bam! White and Cinnablush, and Ethereal Lacquer's Silkfrost. The plate I used was stamping plate BP-L013 from Born Pretty Store.

4. Pink Punk Heart Balloons

With this design, I ventured out a bit and incorporated some black into my design to go for a more punk-style look. This design was a lot easier than it looks - I used the dry brush method to set a textured base with a focus on the tips of my nails - using two colors to give a deeper layered effect - and stamped a heart design using black stamping polish. On my ring finger, I stamped the balloon twice - once with red, and again with black to give it a more standout base.

The polishes featured in this look are Glisten & Glow's Rudolph, Heroine NYC's Between the Sheets, and Painted Polish's Midnight Mischief and Stamped in Crimson. The stamping plate I used was from Pueen Cosmetic's nail art stamping plate collection 25F.

5. Abstract Swirl Hearts

This design was a well loved one on my Instagram, and it's also probably one of my favorites! After setting a jewel-like pink base, I used darker magenta shades to draw abstract swirl lines from the middle of my nail tip. I added some heart details to the tops of each swirl, and also layered a darker wine color and light pink outline to the swirls in the middle for a balanced accent. All freehanded!

The polishes featured in this look are Glisten & Glow's Cupid, Pahlish's What Would Carol Baskin Do?, Dreamland Lacquer's All Wine All the Time, and Pretty Woman NYC's Honey Bunny.

6. Heart String Tips

This is probably another one of my favorite designs from this compilation, and it's also a spinoff from one of my holiday nail designs! Back in December, I did a similar mani with Christmas lights instead of hearts on the string, and it's really such a cute look. This look is also pretty simple - just take the tip of a creme polish to draw cloud-like tips on your nails, and then take a liner brush to draw a somewhat curved line across your tips. Then, I take a dotting tool or detail brush to draw hearts on top the lines, and voila, a super cute mani!

The polishes featured in this look are Painted Polish's Stamped in Slate and Midnight Mischief, and Pahlish's Calcifer.

7. Roses

We've made it to the end! My last design is a classic rose look, easily freehanded with some short squiggles. I think having a light, clean base for this kind of look is better, which is why I drew my dark magenta (instead of classic red) rose on a ivory-grey base. Add a few leaves here and there for a cute detail!

The polishes featured in this look are Olive Ave's Pegasus, Polished for Days' Flannel, and Pahlish's Ponyo.

Which look was your favorite? Let me know, and thanks for reading!

XOXO,

Lauren
