Polish Pickup: Everything is Fine (December 2020)

Image
Hello friends! Since February's PPU is coming up, I decided it'd be too late if I procrastinated on my December 2020 PPU post any longer. The theme for the month had been 'Everything is Fine', to commemorate the difficult year that 2020 was. So, without further ado, here are swatches and nail art featuring all of my December 2020 PPU purchases.  Descriptions of polishes were taken from their official descriptions during the PPU shopping period. Polishes are listed in alphabetical order by brand.  Dreamland Lacquer - All Wine All the Time All Wine All the Time is described as a  a warm purple jelly base with red and pink iridescent flakes and scattered holo. For me, both the holographic dust easily peeked out between the flakes, and the polish overall had a very glittering effect. The formula was easy to work with - no running or pooling, and also easily buildable. This was my second time polishing with Dreamland, and they're definitely rising on my list of favorite

For the Love of Polish Box: December 2020

Hello hello! Near the end of last year I purchased the December 2020 For the Love of Polish (FTLOP) box. Here are some swatches and nail art using the three polishes, which were themed "Winter Wonderland"❄️. Descriptions were taken from the makers' official descriptions of the polishes. Swatches Down the Chimney First up is Down the Chimney by Pahlish. This is described as a a charcoal jelly with a mix of pink and orange flakes with a hint of violet aurora. My bottle had a thicker formula, but the polish was easy to work with and built up quite well. The flakes were easy to work with and laid flat, and the slight violet shimmer was also stunning. Shown are 2 coats with glossy top coat.  Dancing Sugarplums Next is Dancing Sugarplums by Quixotic Polish, the guest maker for the month. This is described as a purple base packed with pink-yellow-green iridescent shimmer and holo flakes. I definitely think this polish leans more magenta or pink-purple rather than just purple, bu

Painted Polish: Pumpkin Spice & Chill Trio

Hello hello! Last fall, I purchased the Pumpkin Spice & Chill trio from Painted Polish, but I didn't get around to swatching and wearing it until now. I know it's a bit late for fall-themed and fall colored manicures to be in season, but I hope you enjoy these looks anyways! As far as I'm aware, this trio is sold out on Painted Polish's website, but maybe this post will help if you decide to snag one or two of these in a destash! Descriptions of each polish were taken from Painted Polish's website/Instagram. Pumpkin Spice 4 Life First up in the trio is Pumpkin Spice 4 Life. Pumpkin Spice 4 Life is described as a delicate pumpkin spice holo with crushed gold flakes and a scattering of holographic glitters. The formula on the polish was easy to work with. The polish is a pretty color, but personally I don't think it paired very well with my skin tone since I have yellow undertones.  Shown is two coats + glossy top coat, with my ring finger appearing to be a b
