For the Love of Polish Box: December 2020

Hello hello! Near the end of last year I purchased the December 2020 For the Love of Polish (FTLOP) box. Here are some swatches and nail art using the three polishes, which were themed "Winter Wonderland"❄️. Descriptions were taken from the makers' official descriptions of the polishes.

Swatches

Down the Chimney

First up is Down the Chimney by Pahlish. This is described as a a charcoal jelly with a mix of pink and orange flakes with a hint of violet aurora. My bottle had a thicker formula, but the polish was easy to work with and built up quite well. The flakes were easy to work with and laid flat, and the slight violet shimmer was also stunning.

Shown are 2 coats with glossy top coat.

 Dancing Sugarplums

Next is Dancing Sugarplums by Quixotic Polish, the guest maker for the month. This is described as a purple base packed with pink-yellow-green iridescent shimmer and holo flakes. I definitely think this polish leans more magenta or pink-purple rather than just purple, but the polish gorgeous. Dancing Sugarplums was probably my favorite from this box - not a surprise since I favor pink/purple polish - and the polish is very sleek in person. The formula was smooth and easy to work with, and brush strokes self-leveled quite well.

Shown are two coats with glossy top coat.

Oh Deer

Finally, we have Oh Deer by Polished for Days. This is described as a a teal base with pink/gold/green metallic shifting iridescent micro flakes and pink/yellow/green iridescent shifting shimmer. The polish gives a bit of a metallic feel, but it's also incredibly shifty - every angle gives a new shade to the polish. The polish had a smooth formula, and brush strokes weren't an issue.

Nail Art

With these gorgeous polishes, I couldn't resist making a nail art look! While I didn't come up with anything winter-y to fit the box theme, I did put the three together for an art deco-style design. I reverse stamped a design from UberChic Beauty's Art Deco Chic plate, paired with Painted Polish's Midnight Mischief for the stamping polish. Personally, I think the design has a little bit of a stained-glass look!

And another design, this time in plaid! I paired Dancing Sugarplums with a muted pink/purple plaid stamping design using Zoya's Teresa, Painted Polish Stamped in Terra Cotta, and Maniology's Cinnablush. The stamping plate I used was Born Pretty Store's BP-L041 (use my code LLAQ10 for 10% off at BPS!).

Thank you for reading!

XOXO,

Lauren
