Weekly Mani Recap: Aug-1 2020

Hello! A bit of a late update, but here are my manis from the first week of August.

The first is a freehand kite mani I did using Deco Miami Nip Slip, my current favorite light nude creme, as a base. The kites were drawn using Fair Maiden Polish 2017 Doorbuster, a sparkly holographic dark blue, on a silicon mat and then placed on top of my mani base like decals. The kite strings were drawn using a dotting tool and Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Next up is another free-hand mani, this time with a dragonfly and abstract dot design. I used Girly Bits Cosmetics Prototype 3279, a periwinkle blue creme with soft silver shimmer, for the base and Great Lakes Lacquer Sandor is a Whole Mood, a light silver with red and gold shimmer and iridescent flakes, for the wings and dots. The body and remaining dots were done using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

My only swatch post this week was of Glam Polish Snakes...Why Did It Have To Be Snakes? from their latest Totally 80's collection. This polish is a light gold holographic with multi-chrome flakes in a strong purple-green sheen. that looks so interesting in person! The formula was smooth and easier to apply than I expected given its relatively high flake concentration.

My final look is an artistic one that I'm super proud of! It's a summer sunset mani with evergreen magnolia trees, a summer blooming tree. The background gradient was done using China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le (lighter blue) Splash Splash (darker blue), and Color Club Tiny Umbrella (light orange). The tree branches were stamped using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief and a Born Pretty Store plate. Finally, the flowers were dotted using Cadillacquer Inhale, a pale pink crelly with aqua green microglitters and small green flakes. The little green glitters gave the perfect glowing texture to the sunset flowers!

I hope you enjoyed the nail art designs from this week! Looking back, the designs were heavily blue-nude toned. Maybe next week will bring a new shade!

XOXO,
Lauren
