KBShimmer: Enchanted Forest Collection

Hello loves! I was recently sent the KBShimmer Enchanted Forest collection to swatch and share, and I'm super excited to present these gorgeous polishes. 

I was able to squeeze in a few nail art looks with these polishes, but this blog post's primary focus is swatches. I hope you enjoy! Polishes are presented in alphabetical order.

Amanita Moment

First up is Amanita Moment. Amanita Moment is described as a soft, sage green crelly with color-shifting flakes that easily show off hues of red, orange and gold while swimming with a similar color-shifting shimmer. In low or indirect lighting, the flakes show off hues of green. 

Amanita Moment had a fantastic formula - it built up really well, and the flakes lied flat without any adjustment. They also came up really easily - this polish is packed with the gorgeous flakes. Amanita Moment dried more on the matte side, so you'll want a glossy top coat if you want the shiny look.

Branching Out

Branching Out is described as a tri-thermal that goes from a deep, near navy indigo color when cold to a dusty periwinkle shade that gives way to a blue-leaning mint when warm.  It's also filled with flakes that shift from a lime gold to spring green, and then aqua blue.

Branching Out also had a great formula, and the thermal was incredibly reactive. You'll see that I wasn't the best at getting the thermal contrast in the same shot because of how quickly the colors shifted. I'm personally a fan of the deep cold color, and I think the flakes contrasted the base well in all three states. Like most thermals, Branching Out dried pretty matte.

Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat. I probably could have gotten away with two coats, but I wanted to build the flakes up more with three coats. I tried my best to capture the thermal shifts!

Dawn To Earth

Dawn to Earth is described as a bright cobalt blue jelly with a strong pink shimmer showing hues of fuchsia, rose, and in some lights, peach, and gold.

I'll keep repeating myself throughout this post, but Dawn to Earth also had a great formula. The jelly polish layered really well, although it's jelly-ness led to a slight visible nail line peeking through even when I'd built it up to three coats. On the other hand, the shimmer is absolutely stunning, and its warm tones contrast really well with the cooler, bluer base.

Frequent Flyer

Here comes the resident topper of this collection, Frequent Flyer. Frequent Flyer is a shimmer topper with colors ranging from soft aqua and blue tones to hues of soft peach, rose, and violet depending on the angle.

Frequent Flyer was an awesome topper - the shimmer definitely plays against the base that you're layering it over, but regardless of the base color it makes your nails glow with a gorgeous ethereal look. I personally was a huge fan of this polish, even though I typically don't gravitate towards toppers.

Shown is one coat over Dimension Nails' Piglet (pink), Hatchling (purple), Tadpole (green), and Zoya's Kristen (blue). Enjoy the glowy pastel skittle!

 

Hidden Potential

Next up is Hidden Potential, one of the contenders for my favorite from this collection. Hidden Potential is described as starting with a warm violet hue that shows off a strong bronze to golden green shimmer in direct lighting. In indirect lighting, it goes from a warm, nearly red copper, to burnt orange to gold, then shifting into hues of green, blue, and navy.

I definitely didn't capture all of the magic that this polish was - the polish under indirect lighting is really something else. It's so so stunning, and it has a muted, darker tone of pretty much all the colors of the rainbow in a gorgeous multichrome finish. Pictures do not do this polish justice. The formula was, of course, amazing.

Shown is three coats with glossy top coat in direct lighting. You can see a hint of the multi-colored shift that the polish has - there's a lot of ~ Hidden Potential ~ left not shown. 

I'd Pick You

I'd Pick You is described as a pastel orchid crelly base with softly colored flakes that show off hues of leaf green, goldenrod, peach, and at some angles, aqua.

I'd Pick You feels like a pink sister polish to Amanita Moment, and like all the other polishes in this collection it had a great formula. The flakes lied flat and were easy to work with, and there's a ton of them so you don't have to do any fishing for them. 

Shown is three coats plus glossy top coat. For some nails where I went in with a slightly thicker coat, I probably could have gotten away with two coats of I'd Pick You.

Mist Me

Next up is Mist Me, another contender for one of my top favorites from this collection. Mist Me is described as a light, slate blue-hued linear holographic with a warm, rose gold shimmer that transforms to shades of copper and warm honey. 

 Mist Me was absolutely stunning - the exact hue that it is is a soft, glowy lavender blue. The formula was fantastic as well. I personally went for two coats, but I definitely think with a slightly thicker coat you could get away with just one coat.

No Illusions

No Illusions is a multichrome that shifts from bright teal to cool emerald, with shades of blue that come out to play before morphing into grape and magenta purples. At some angles, you can catch warm gold and orange tones. 

This was such a fun and shifty multichrome polish - I'm personally a huge fan of multichromes in general, and this one did not disappoint. The formula was awesome too - there were minimal to no brush strokes that were visible, and the polish self leveled well.

Shown is two coats plus glossy top coat. You can tell I loved this polish - I tried my best to capture as much of the shifts as possible. Contrary to the name, there were a lot of ~ illusions ~ that were visible through this polish.

What the Fudge

What the Fudge is the resident creme for this collection, and it is described as a milk chocolate-colored creme polish. 

I definitely agree with the description here - the exact brown tone that this polish is screams chocolate to me. The formula was great with no streakiness and good self-leveling factors.

Bonus: Nail art

I couldn't let this gorgeous collection post end without some bonus nail art features! Here are two looks I created - one with Mist Me as a base, and the other featuring I'd Pick You and Hidden Potential.
